I was having a discussion with some friends and one interesting finding come out. When HIV was first reported in Africa nobody took it serious and so everyone went about doing their business of sex left and right and centre. Sad thing is that the incubation period for HIV to develope into AIDS took about 2to 5 years depending on an individual. This means that HIV was first reported in the mid to late 1980s. Deaths and crowded hospital wards filled with patients exploded in the 1990s and that's when HIV was taken serious. And everybody took note and precautions and today we see that now HIV is under control with very few or very low infection rates. COVID 19 has an incubation period of one to two weeks. Where is the explosion of patients in hospitals here? It's now 4weeks old here (officially) but I and other like minded fellows think that it has been with us from late January. Untill that happens here this COVID thing is still a European and Chinese thing. When this explosion happens here most Kenyans will not question the government on a full lockdown and they won't even ask for food. They will just be happy to take uji daily inside their houses as they wait for the government to act on the sick and the disease to clear. Politics is just things to keep the people divided and foolish and put your trust in men and none of them can do nothing for you...

Mama Ngilu should flood the market with those Made in Kitui masks Well Why is it then Doctors and Nurses have to where masks? Lets Not wait for Science It will be too for poor Mwananchi, This is their last defence. The virus gets into you lungs mainly through the nostrils. Any form of cover reduces the viral load. Simple experiment, sniff some chilly powder with and without a mask on and experience the difference. The Czech Republic and Slovakia have slowed down the spread of COVID 19 and has the lowest motality rate after making Masks Mandatory https://www.theguardian....ment-decree-coronavirus

Let's ensure that we are all masked up today so that we can get to other measures ASAP.
The matter of WHO is clear that care givers can wear masks. Ditto patients. We are care givers and we are patients. Let's not dither on semantics.

The next thing we need to do is keep our body immunity up.
First, we will all need to keep calm and optimistic. It's going to take some exercises. But we will hack it. As we mask up, you may feel anxious and disturbed. Some may feel a tightening of the stomach- like for me, or in the chest, some may get headaches.
These experiences can be disorienting, and if one entertains them, then the body will react in distress and immunity is likely to lower, and judgement will be impaired. But we want to keep the curve flat, so we must overcome and control these experiences.
The first thing to do is: keep aware of your breathing. For starters let's make it a habit for all us to ensure we do ten to twenty breaths slowly and fully, every now and then. We will advance these measures, but for now, take charge of your breath.

Having a mask and in control of breath and mind, is our basic position of defense. Exercise these measures with zeal.
Now, I am a doctor, among other things, and I have some resources we can use. If we wish to be effective and efficient, then we need to have unity of command and operation. I have not had the best relationship with our government. Her agents helped destroy a research program I have been working on for decades, and I have had little appetite for a relationship with it. So you can all imagine how much I may be an outsider.
But because of this Covid issue, I request that I be incorporated into the real operations spanning between health and the economy, as soon as is possible, if at all we think I may make a difference. We will all need to work together and we can't do it if we are divided. Besides, you will notice that action against Covid and measures to ensure that our economy runs well may take some time. We can't do anything worthwhile if there's no serious structure and strategy.
Therefore, we need to do what is necessary.

Doing ten to twenty breaths slowly to fully is myth. Scientists have debunked that idea of diagnosing pulmonary fibrosis by taking in deep breathe and holding it up for a couple of seconds. @tycho is likely to come up with a ritual instructing us to drink cow urine to cleanse and boost our immunity. John 5:17 But Jesus replied, “My Father is always working, and so am I.”
