You forgot to write profit up by a "mere" 6% and put the MERE in capitals.

www.kbc.co.ke/news.asp?nid=67643 Yet their MD was satisfied. They should just savour their last year as king of the hill. 6 percent is a joke when even KCB made above 20 percent

I've always believed BBK is rudderless strategywise. One time they close most of their branches, the next time they open hundreds; one time they target the niche market, the next time they deal with the masses; one time they dabble in bonds, the next time they lead in unsecured personal loans; one time they are masters of asset financing, the next time they are in islamic banking, no wonder their fortunes fluctuate so wildly. They seem to called it wrong this time, posting 14% (?) when everybody else, including neanderthals like Baroda are flying.

@youcan't banks like BBK and stanchart only tend to do better than the other banks like KCB during recessions and low economic growth because of their conservaitve operations and the high loan loss provisions by the other banks but in years of high economic growth this conservativeness comes back to bite them in the ass...

BBK remains far more profitable & efficient vs KCB... [KCB has the largest asset base yet underperforms vs SCBK/BBK/Equity]

@VVS I know KCB underperforms its assets but I was talking about PROFIT GROWTH!!!

KCB will always out perform BBK and STANCHART in a boom and they will always perform better than KCB in down turns...

I disagree... Seems KCB has a habit/need for a major scam every 2 years!

@y i am hoping that the roar will be loud and dominant, worthy of the king of the jungle, more than enough to offset the dilutional effect of the rights on equity. Otherwise mimi pia nimefuga simba
