quick question - have you guys noticed that most real estate investments are skewed onto one part of the country....Thika Greens, TATU city, and a host of other "gardens", "greens" etc
any logical explanation to this? How come there haven't been much exploration on the Naivasha/Nakuru/Eldoret side....

in as much as we are questioning that. lemmi ask a simple question, can everyone who visits wazua please say where they would rather invest if they had money.
most of the investments are in areas where there are maximum returns and hope for growth.

Wonder no more..this was a well laid plan.

The plan was to convince people Nairobi will grow along mombasa road...cheat folks they were going to build an '8lane superhighway'...mara malili technopolis etc....watu wakakimbia kitengela and environs

then all of a sudden the plans changed to thika road

The Nairobi Metropolis is not the solution to Kenya's underdevelopment. IMHO, it serves the country better to have many small thriving towns all over the country PRODUCING wealth. Am talking efficient sugar production in Western, fresh sea food processing in Kisumu County, grain processing in the Rift Valley (why are we milling grain in Nairobi?), meat production and export from Northern Kenya etc.
The idea of every youth coming to Nairobi to look for work is not sustainable. The pure capitalist invests where returns are easiest, the results are clear for all to see - congestion, insecurity, slums, resource depletion in and around Nairobi.
Truly visionary governments invest resources where they may not have immediate returns but improve the overall quality of life of MAJORITY of their people in the long term. I respect what this govt has begun to do in that direction but am convinced we need to move faster away from Nairobi.
