Hmmmn interesting results... So I came across an analysis of Urban Media diaries online. Quarterly Ranking report done by Synovate on media in Kenya. TELEVISION (media diaries) --Weekly TV Reach: Citizen (68%), KBC (51%), NTV (41%), KTN (40%), K-24 (12%), Classic TV (10%), Kiss TV (8%) --KTN News (3rd) ahead of NTV news (4th) RADIO (media madness) 1. Biggest station in Nairobi is Kiss 100 (37%) followed closely by Radio Citizen, Classic, Easy, Kameme, QFM, Milele, Inooro, Metro, Coro and Jambo. 2. Maina Kageni is leading morning show, followed by Caroline Mutoko and then Radio Citizen. 3. Mid-morning has Kiss 100 and Inooro leading the pack. Inooro is the station with most listeners going into the afternoon - In Nairobi YES. 4. Kameme takes the lead on morning slots. Big English stations have reduced impact on weekends. muganda attached the following image(s): mediake.jpg (8kb) downloaded 2 time(s).

The problem is that every station believes it is number one...even when the bitter truth is glaring at them. The way I am

I have listened to Capital FM from when it was the first FM radio station in Kenya under Linda Holt; to when they trained Caroline Mutuku and Jimmi Gathu, plus the days of all the foreign imports: Phil Matthews, Sean Cardovillis, Alex Belfield. I remember fondly the upcoming madames Zain Verjee and Patricia Amira to the successful gentlemen Marcus and Leo.
It's that I have a natural intertia about change. And sometimes, like a fine wine, things become better with time.
But alas! Recently after the departure of Seanice and Fareed, I have struggled very painfully, sometimes to the point of tears, with Eve and Gaetano.
I see Capital FM features nowhere in the plot?

What happened to Sean Cardovillis? I miss that bugger, the best sports presenter I ever listened to. James Wokabi is good as well. I was a big fan of Sartuday Music and Sports but now with Eddie Kimani ni piriton. The most boring show in the planet. The greatest act of bravery is chancing a fart while suffering from diarrhoea

@Kyt and Mugunda, I liked Capital especially their jokes. Classic is just garbage and KISS play the same songs over and over. Capital's mixes are just the best but Gae is tired, too tired.

Whats wrong with KTN now Larry Madowo is moving to NTV business the other day they lost Allan Namu .Is it the pay or work environment. '......to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; 3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.' Colossians 2:2-3

@selah it appears to me that KTN don't like 'celebrity' employees who can hold them to ransom vis a vis salary. Regarding Capital: they lost me after introducing pretentious programmes such as that Classical show, the Fuse, etc

For a long time I never watched Citizen because the reception at my house was horrible. Then I moved house and now it is clear, but I still don't know what the craze is all about. So, I'm caught between KTN and NTV most of the time.... and what happened to Kasavuli, she can't read fluently these days - the way she was at KTN. Is the auto-cue too far away? She needs glasses! Radio? I listen to Hope FM at night before going to sleep and in the morning when dressing for work. Still haven't fitted a "band-expander" in the car so I tune to Waumini when not listening to my tapes.... Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

More often than not, those who claim to me they like classical music diss other music that they are not 'refined'. Those who play classical music instruments are even worse in this attitude. I also like classical music but I dont gloat about it. So, I am not pretentious.
