Turning a small house into a maisonette

Want to extend a small house OUTWARD and UPWARDS. Is this possible? want to economize on space. The maisonette was not the original plan. Pliz advice Pray

@IDP hehe! u remind me of one of my lecturers,he used to say...the house of an african man is never complete until he dies...he will either add a bedroom,kitchen as the family expands...he he!


Anyway where is ur current house located? before you even seek architectural conseil you need to make sure that the zoning regulation of the neighbourhood allows for that change...from there tunaeza saidiana.

Zakumi, Actually the small house was meant to be an SQ, then I put the main Hse separately. But I have found better use for the land. The place is in Kitengela and the only regulation I have heard there is by the Residents Association. They want One House per plot.

Can the foundation take the extension upwards? Better get, besides the approvals, really good structural advice.
