is it legal to demand that Zain sticks to its prices permanently and operate in the Kenyan market for at least ten years? I am convinced that Zain has no interest in Kenyan market and have decided to spoil the cake for the winners. i bet within 2 years they will not operate in kenya and it will be too late for real investors read safaricom,orange etc
they destroyed the market by lowering their prices to extreme loss making levels. the other market players have no choice because we all know kenyan are unique.
ANY growth is driven by profits leading to innovation more jobs and faster growth. safaricom has made its profits and has come up with world leading products.ZAin = Pain.

You must be kidding, did you hear the billions they will be pumping in for the next two years? It would take a very foolish person to spend money for no reason ati just to spoil market.

Why are people showing brand loyalty? Unless you work for Safcom, you should be celebrating the competition

@Mlefu
Your argument makes sense... But then again,Safcom and the other brands have slashed their rates drastically since Zain'z insane move..which could mean that they've been making outrageous profits out of us! I highly doubt they're making huge loses even with the new rates. Zain could be up to no good..but at least they've brought some sanity to the telecom World.

Eddy Mundu..thats just a hearsay..i still bet Zain has no interest in this market and YES Safconed billions out of us but we appreciate their products..MPesa,broadband internet, jobs etc...... the prices set by Zain are simply ridiculous. from their financial report Zain has no profit record even ones..they have no idea on how profits are made @#$% them!!!!Today i will visit CCK and see whether I can demand commitment from Zain.

You are very right , zain just trying to spoil the cake , has anyone thot for a minute what would happen if safaricom closed down what will we do ,

i think CCK has dropped the prices too quickly its going to damage the market , the cheaper calls are going to bring more people on the network and call dropping will be all the time now

CCK is to control prices up or down

i hope i will still have a mobile phone and a mobile network to use next year

Guys fight against this uncontrolled prices drop , we have had operators in Tanzania going BUST

Lets not have it in Kenya

Anyone

Let me get this right, people here are upset that Zain dropped prices and forced Safcon to do the same?

Amazing......
