Is this the most expensive credit card to use in Kenya or what? They have lumbered me annual charges of 10,000/- for a basic and supplementay card. The average fee for most cards is 4500/- (3000/- for basic and 1500/- for supplementary). To make matters worse they have the poorest customer care service around - they never respond to complaints and it takes ages to get through to customer service officer on phone! furthermore their card gets rejected quite often due to administrative problems at their end - i.e. they are slow at processing payments, therefore you could have paid your bill on time, but your card will still reflect outstanding and be rejected! Anyone else with nasty experiences on this card? any reccommendations for a better credit card company?

Am not surprised! Sorry state! Eh.! Wait until they start calling you at 6.30AM to ask why the a single monthly remmitance has not gone through, only to discover it is their mistake!! This is after 4 different people call you, they dont introduce themselves, they care less knowing whether you are aware of the situation etc etc. They call and say THEY WANT THEIR MONEY. This as well works the same with a SINGLE delayed loan remmitance....SAD. But then we are in Kenya. Strange!

Kindly if you can,run away from Barclay card as fast as you can!

They will call in the middle of the night to say you owe them this and that even when you already paid. If the due date is tomorrow and you pay today to any of the bank branches, they will load late payment penalty and claim they had not seen it reflected in the system. They will load 10% of the outstanding onto your statement. This translates to 120% per annum!! This besides annual access fees, late payment fees etc. Sober up sooner than later, pay them all their dues and run away.

Their tel. lines will answer, then keep you waiting for five minutes only to say all their customer service staff are busy.

Generally speaking, avoid credit cards like a plague. Though debt is unavoidable sometimes, try to live within your means.

Ati Access fee!!! Never trusted Barclay's. They will always pull one on you. Try Kcb.

KCB is very very lousy. too many controls and fails almost everywhere. I actually moved to barclays from them. And their limits, they think everyone who goes to them is a civil servant and purely relies on salo
