For Kenya-Re to go any higher, you have to wait for the half year results. Maybe September.

KQ might start flights to Brazil in 2014 in time for the World Cup... http://www.standardmedia...g%20point%20in%20Africa

Now if only China would qualify then we should see thousands of Chinese use KQ... also visit Kenya as tourists...

(As long as they keep off the ivory + rhinos!)

The 1Q numbers will be hurt by Iceland's volcano but the World Cup will push pax numbers up. With Netherlands in the Final, I hope KQ benefits from overflow of Dutch fans using AMS-NBO-JNB on KQ...

Can KQ get some of this business from Paris & Amsterdam?

http://www.sagoodnews.co...+%28SA+The+Good+News%29

€4,000 for the 'special' economy fare from AMS-JNB for the Finals... (Of course, the flight flies empty on JNB-AMS on 11th & AMS-JNB on 14th)

Even a regular flight is €1,450 which is 2x the normal fare from NBO-AMS...

Even then ALL flights for KLM are fully booked!

I think Kenya Re is undervalued and this is the time to sow. Imagine if Kenya Re got a Michael Joseph or a James Mwangi that counter will hit 30 in a week.

BBI will solve it

After KQ bounced back to profits in 2009/10, i see this as a more growth year for them but not sure of the trading levels for the share (anybody with an idea?), as for KENRE we are yet to hear anything from the new board since they took over april this year, thy should atleast exite this counter.

Kenya re should be sold because there is nothing to show that their half year results will be any good except maybe the rally in the NSE

On the charts as of today KQ is very very very much oversold. RSI AT 30. It just needs the slightest information to shoot it up past ksh 52.00 . And that information is commin around 1 st of August ,when they release their pax numbers.

They own 0.87% of KCB. Anyone with any info of whether they are selling or taking them up?

2012, what do you reckon will be the impact of the expiry of the compulsory cession fees

KQ will probably cash in on the sale of 15% (huge capital gain) of Precision Air... See East African... but don't believe all you read in the papers either!

@youcant... IMHO the impact will be big thats part of the reason why the share is trading where it is... but they have been trying to play it down claiming they have other revenue sources....

@youcant thats a clear reason for not investing in Kenya re... with all the banks that have rallied on the NSE they decide to be in KCB??????????

@qw.... Keep dreaming.. KCB is a useless short term investment compared to other banks and can only reach a maximum of 24 which will be next year
