Reliable insecurities have been bought 70% by Old Mutual. Is this the end of family affairs at Reliable or Jos will continue managing the outfit?

Is the office going to move across the road into Old Mutual offices or will remain at IPS building? Change is only as good as change of the personnel in this case.

I think they will definitely have a change in some of the key staff, plus have tighter controls/ procedures. Let's wait and see on this one..

With a life insurance company, an asset management company, a unit trust and now a broker, it seems it is only a question of time before Old Mutual acquire a bank and a general insurance company in Kenya. Those are the only two financial businesses they dont already own.

Old Mutual suffered a lot of brand damage in the recent past (at one time its product was subject of discussion on SK). The acquisition of Reliable doesn't seem to help the brand much.

Tighter controls? really? Old Mutual? They may have international connections and a big HQ but controls is not one of OMs strongest points.. but you may expect higher turnovers of senior staff..

Is Ngenye Kariuki likely to go the same route?

Given that it is under statutory management, it is likely that CMA will auction the Ngenye Kariuki seat to the highest bidder to recover funds to settle any claims that may be left

@instinct...yes there are interested bidders for Ngenye. I know Tsavo Securities is one of them.
