It depends on ones understanding of mobile phone unlocking. But my version of unlocking is to unlock the phone which is locked to a specific network eg safaricom or orange, and whereby you cannot use another network.

Unlocking is totally legal what is illegal is unblocking. Unblocking can occur in case a mobile device e.g. a phone is stolen then it is reported and the network decide to block the IMEI.

The phone now becomes useless on several networks since they share their records of blocked IMEIs. So the only way out is changing the IMEI which is known as unblocking.

Hello, I want to know if the usb modems can also be unlocked. I have an Orange edge/gprs stick and I feel I should use other sim cards in it, like yu.
