Well from a very reliable source cmc group might be headed to alot of trouble and are in the verge of loosing the volkswagen brand very soon..
According to the German car maker the stardards at cmc are of very low quality and they are not happy with the cmc group handling of things..for those of you who can remember the same happened to them with the Audi few years back..
Vw have given cmc group a list of things they need to do with immidiate effect i.e making their workshop a dust proof enviroment, and major renovations which if not met they will be looking for potential suitors...
Its understood they olso not happy with the marketing concept of their cars in this region a fine example is that cmc have an IT manager and some of their brands like passat were updated last in cmc website more that 4 year ago..
For those who had invested heavly on this stock guess it time to cut our losses..?
If cmc were to loose this vw dealership what would be their position?

CMC is one of the better managed vehicle firms in Kenya...

BTW, Citizen "Who Owns Kenya" had a segment on kibaki... who has an indirect stake in DT Dobie...

Ask me: I've been in CMC for a very looooooong time [since around 1993!]

CMC's largest brands are Ford, Nissan UD, Land/Range Rover, and New Holland agricultural tractors & machinery [New Holland has something like 80% of the market!].

VW has been a poor performer until last year after they used it to bid for the GoK tender - and won. Same applied to the Audi brand [good riddance!].

They might lose VW, but they recently acquired the Jaguar franchise. In short, don't write them off just because the could lose a poorly performing brand.

Have you looked at the stock price recently? Yesterday it crossed into the 14 zone....but, hey, the market is generally up...

@vitu well in terms of merit they are a joke in customer care and wont give them a point either in well managed.
recently there was a vaccany for 3 sales team training in germany and the Gm went with the wife and a family friend someting that infuriated the german officials and cmc sales team. This the certain muindi Gm who entered there as a spanner boy 40 years ago.

@mukiha. recently touregs are doing far much better than range rovers in tune of about 20 a month compared to 4 rangerovers a month.
They got too much house corruption as well when you go to buy a new car like touareg they will sell u the car mats as extras which i know for a fact they come as a car package is this what you call well managed this small cracks will bring down their wall

@Shiznit...

Those sort of scandals are everywhere; but that should not be misconstrued to mean that I condone it. Si watetei!

As I mention HERE [http://www.wazua.co.ke/forum.aspx?g=posts&t=2488] some time back; my biggest concern about CMC is actually the group MD Martin Forster. I think he has been there too long.... and Greg Forster the GM Tz. Are the two related, by the way?

VVS how much did they say Kibaki was worth?
Uhuru said on BBC'S hatdtalk that he (Uhuru) was worth 10 million dollars. BULLSHIT!

I don't see how this relates to CMC, but @youcan'tstopusnow, how much do you think Uhuru is worth?

Remember there is a difference between Uhuru Kenyatta and The Kenyatta Family. Mama Ngina is still alive and still holds controlling stake on her late husband's estate, the children only get "pocket money"

When you look at it this way, US$10 million is a very large sum. In any case, how many people do you know who are worth sh750 million?
