At 12.48pm on 18 Jan 2010, there were 2 trades for 50,000 shares each of KQ at 48/- when the prevailing price on the main board was 50/-.

The following bids were on the Main Board:
16,100 KQ @ 50
5,000 KQ @ 49
1,000 KQ @ 48

There were no sellers/offers at that time on the Main Board.

There were so many trades (exceeding 200,000 shares) that happened at 50/- on the main Board prior to 12.48pm & IMHO, the chances are the sellers got conned by the Brokers. I am fairly certain the 2 trades for 50k shares each were done across the books to the detriment of the seller.

The NSE needs to cut down the settlement period to T+1 at most. The current T+4 is way too long...

Merging the Prompt Board with the Main Board should reduce front-running & manipulation by Brokers.

I keep on seeing deals on the Prompt Boards (even small lots) that make no sense (except for maybe getting the cash 3 days earlier)...

They won't change the prompt board given its uses. Have you ever tried using prompt board btw?

@Wa - I think it is exploited by the brokers since they have the ability to easily trade on both.

I am asked to put cash down before I buy... say 250,000/- for 5,000 KQ shares...

Now, I can only place 1 bid at a time so I have to choose... Prompt or Main...

By combining the 2 boards, the market will become more transparent...

Another deal for 100 KQ at 52.50 at 1.44pm on the Prompt Board when there is a bid for 10,000+ shares on the Main Board.

I am sure the same happens on other counters but I am watching just the busy counters at the moment.

Look at KPLC as well... the Prompt Board gave the sellers a raw deal vs the Main Board... 145 vs 147-150

I am a jamaa who is possessed by this issue/scam...

On 20-Jan @ 10.22am 6,700 shares of KQ were traded on the Prompt Board were traded at 53.50 while there was a bid at 45,300 shares on the Main Board at 56.50

That is 3/- lost for the seller... I think the brokers are pulling a fast one on their clients!
