>> perhaps expected rise in profits. having stopped to use the generators, operating costs must be coming down and the dams almost full.

Has anybody done an analysis to see how the kengen bond is going to affect there profitability at least in the short term?

KenGen has already invested the proceeds in T bills and Bonds. So the only effect on the P&L is the difference b2n T bill/bond and the Bond interest rate. I believe KenGen can handle that.

In the medium term, it matters how the projects undertaken are delivered - Tana upgrading, Kipevu 3, Olkaria 2, Ngong Wind and Kindaruma 3

For KenGen is if they could get Portable geothermal Turbine Generators, then revenues would come earlier than before - these generators ones allow generation from geothermal wells before a real plant can be set up. it will actually accelerate the revenues, considerably.

KenGen seems great for someone who is happy with decent returns over a period of 5-7 years...

I admire the wazee who are now billionaires who often buy good firms at fair prices & hold for years! (Sorta how Warren Buffett does it)
Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett
