KenGen will focus on geothermal power over the next few years, and may actually result in higher elec tariff prices going forward. An example is the recent 2nd half performance (Dec-Jun '09), where hydro-power failed but geo&thermal improved. The average price per Gwh sent by Kengen was actually higher because they made less from hydro. 2013 is the year this may manifest.
But just how long will it take to build that transmission line, considering all the processes involved (capital & legal & political)?
