Educate me somebody?. Does it mean that the current share-holders won't right of purchase or even voice their opion in NBK's agm. Why should a CEO of a public bank talk as if NBK is there for taking before the process kicks off

He is just exposing himself by being proud. If needs some1 like M/s Mambo to humble him.

Kuongea ni bure. This is not saffueringcon. Let EB talk. It is good coz NBK can then get the best price - if done transparently.

JM's statement on NBK has been taken completetly out of context so it doesn't merit any comment. However if Eq were to buy NBK,what would the gain be? Eq has a much larger footprint than NBK,so getting the NBK network is of no advantage. NBK also doesnt have niche Eq would be interested in. Also consider that there is some business NBK gets because it is a 'Govt' bank - parastatal accounts etc, which would be lost if NBK is fully privatised. However,a 'small' bank like CFC that is looking for branches should be very interested in NBK.

EB buying NBK is a waste. The culture that EB fosters is NOT there. EB has more ATMs & branches than NBK. And they overlap.

CFC-Stanbic... maybe but KCB will eat their lunch. And gava has no incentive to leave cheap funds @ NBK if CFC takes over.

NSSF & GoK can put their cash into Consolidated or other gava controlled or owned banks.
