We all have the urge to be in business...having watched other successful people doing it and the pressure to be rich and achieve our dreams is well very compelling.
however,sometimes without entrepreneurship skills,you will loose your money in trying business,...a common risk.
if u cant come up with a concrete idea to build your business on ...just save,fixed deposits or on bonds n unit trusts and of course in land/plots.

good thing u r young. if u think u have time to go into any profitable business that u love to do then do so it's better than buying shares. Just read Wa P comments in this thread http://www.stockskenya.c...k=1004&top=16264but she did a very interesting reply. if u have doubts of not doing good in biz. then just buy shares and forget them for not less than 10 years (u'll only b in ur 30ties). don't bother urself in the day to day price follow up u'll just be wasting ur time. just buy and hold ....u'll reap good.

First; decide: do you want to invest the 100k or do you want to do business with it? There is a difference between the two.

If it is to invest you can go to real-estate....look for cheap plots in underdeveloped areas near urban centres. Compare price per acre to distance from the town.The higher the ratio of price per acre to distance in km,the better the investment.

The risk is that there are too many conmen in the sector and you can easily lose all your money...and even end up in jail!!! (I've seen it happen to a close associate)

You may also consider the NSE. The best shares will be those with low (but positive) P/E ratios and trade heavy volumes. Check the Tuesday press for weekly NSE trading results.

Look for (A) Total shares issued,(B) Shares traded in the week,and (C) P/E.

Then work out B*C/A. The higher this factor,the better your investment...especially for the long term

Ahhhh,100k,that's good money :D And you're still young - you got the energy and drive to work really hard!

So,why not try to make money on the internet? The margins are usually fantastic,and you don't even need all that capital (while you are testing the waters or learning). You can,for example,start your domaining career with as little as 800 bob (and domaining can earn you thousands (of dollars) in a single sale!!). The thing with internet business,though,is that it is in no way easy money. But its good money and the profit margins are hardly unmatched.

Just think about it.

@rjaz the english dictionary does not define people of your age as a girls,but rathet it does define you as 'a 22year old women.' May be the Swahili one does define you as a girl.

@rjaz

Why are you telling us your age and gender?

anyway.....with 100k you can invest in low priced plots in Joska/kamulu near the designated airport or you can do small businesses of your choice.....which we dont need to tell you coz it must come from you....what you have passion in.

The words from your response below doesn't seem to be from a ''only 22yrs old girl''
If honestly you are only 22yrs old girl,then i pity the man who will marry you if at all you plan to be married one day. Please,can yo grow up or be yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!

I second Juz Blazin

Guys lets stick to the real issue here......advising a person in need. It matters not whether she is a girl or he is a man. I have already benefited from this forum and I would encourage everyone to be positive.

@rjaz

A true businessman need not get emmotional,neither does he or she uses his/her age to win people's heart.
How does your age and gender relates to investing a 100K....
If you are buying a car,the seller wont charge you less or more coz you purport to be young.....grow up!!!

@All

I dont think she put in her age and gender for any specific purpose. She was just saying. Let's look past that.

First I want to congratulate you for realizing that age and your gender is important to your investment decisions.This is how: your age determine the level of risk you can take and hence your inv. portfolio and your gender because of the many products tailored for the women and financing opportunities for the same.Congrats and keep at investment and you will not regret it when old.

At 22 I didn't think much of business most probably because it was in the early 90'. So we the 7k I had I purchase hfck shares @7bob. Fifteen years later I sold them for 45bob made a cool 131k . .

It is important not to rush and make hurried dicisions like buying a second photocopier and placing it in some estate where you will only get 10 customers a day and you charge 3/- per copy. Very soon you realise that you are not making enough to pay your staff and rent.

Any business/investment idea you have has to be followed with a proper market research. Do this and your won't go wrong.
