where do you want to set up the cyber?

please wait until the fibre optic revolution in kenya settles things. this will help you decide on the best internet provider, you might commit yourself to something expensive then a cheaper option is available like very soon.

That the fiber landing will bring about a drastic change in internet prices, thats a given.......bringing the internet to peoples' homes/doorsteps,thereby reducing/doing away with the need for cyber cafes..........Interestingly some offers for monthly internet may soon be introduced by our major telecom companies thus we will eventually benefit. This pricing per Mb is definitely not enticing at all. Safcom,Orange,WAnanchi,Access Kenya e.t.c e.t.c all have a slice of the fiber and am sure one of these wants to be the first to start offering cheaper internet via the fiber cable, obviously to get more customers and also for PR.

Back to the cyber cafe issue......i suggest you just take the advise given and give it a wait n see....

Dont you worry about fibre and prises. Remember all those bringing fibre are in business and want return on their investiment.
Furthermore not everyone is going to be connected broadband-wise. demand for internet and related servises is also set to rise.

So do your research well and define your target market - may be those not able to have computer & personal internet connection.

I suggest you talk to service providers and find out their flexibility in prices incase the fibre arrives.
