Hello dear SKerians,

Now that the Mpig,Isaac Ruto, for my former constituency has declared that he will work day and night to ensure that the United Democratic Movement (UDM) dislodges Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) in the larger Rift Valley, political events leading to the 2012 general elections will be very interesting.

Already the ODM is badly fructured with nagging internal rumblings and discontent within the party mainly by the many Mpigs in the region (RV),and there is no signs that these fissures will go any time soon. And as long as the Raila's die hards continue to mask him from the bare reality and fact that without the Rift Valley contribution in the party,ODM is just as a Nyanza and Western outfit with no national outlook. This is so because the preceeding political re-alignment would see most of the remaining areas under ODMs clout slowly disintegrate into smaller units which would be absorbed by other parties really fast. Kenyas politics are really predictable.
I read that already many mpigs from the northern rift are contributing generously and promptly to the UDM party kitty and it is quickly gaining the required momentum for a stout onslaught. So,where does this leave ODM? I think in a shaky ground if not a soft quagmire!!!

UDM dani ODM toka!!!

Or am i actually dreaming?

Sounds to me like a party of rejected and dejected Kalenjin mps.
ODM could be Western and Nyanza but UDM is one tribe. Shindwe!

@ mcreggae,

in kenya you dont need alot of input to build an outfit moneywise. history has shown us that. Isaac Ruto just started a spark and the response from the North Rift mpigs is slowly building a flame. The rest of party ranks will take shape once the flame is hot enough. it is getting there. Lest you forget ODM was an outfit when it was bought from imanyara fellow and it has not changed much, loyalty wise. To me it was just an avenue to get mpigs to where they are and later decide their next course of action if their demands are not met. The scenario is more or less like a mathree which you board to your destination and once there you would always get another one.

@ mtaalam,

You could be right, but kenyas politics is just about numbers. North Rift has the numbers and as such when they are bargaining polically they have an edge.

@ Segemia,
I agree with you on one point. After KANU,politicians have founded/bought/invented/revived/split existing political parties and used them as vehicles for ascendancy to power and never as institutions for democratization they are meant to be. These have then been abandoned if perceived not to serve the purpose for which they were created. One of Machiavellian principles I suppose.
Our flegding democracy is left to suffer the consequences.
On ODM and UDM,I have no comment.
