Veteran politician Kenneth Matiba will be paid Sh945 million by the state after a calculation error was noted in his torture case.

Last month, Supreme Court judge Isaac Lenaola awarded him Sh504 million for torture in the hands of state agents.

"Real justice can be expensive and nothing in compensation can return Kenneth Stanley Jindo Matiba to the sprightly and fit man that he was before his detention."

Another chance to glorify a great Kenyan who we largely ignored when he lived. There will be lots of calls to honour him now yet Matiba's patriotism didn't even start with agitation for pluralism.
At a time when leadership is now a ticket to plunder and unbridled self aggrandisement it's a shame that he paid so heavily-financially and bodily- in order to make this a better country. But are we any the better?

May he rest in peace. He inspired many though he didn't get his desired outcome.

Will Former President Moi aka "Nyayo" attend Matiba burial?
Does Moi feel he was behind his one friend suffering.
Attending his burial will result in forgiveness of MOI.

Rest in peace. It was a sad time for Kenya, to watch the transformation of a seemingly healthy man, upon incarceration to a ghost of his former self upon release. Politics is indeed a dirty game
