Why are Kenyan hotels and lodges so ridiculously expensive? Is it because they have to import everything? But so do all of Europe.
Food is available locally and personnel don't cost anything in comparison to personnel in Western hotels. They charge you Michelin star prices for a meal of good old English boiled carrots, boiled broccoli and peas as canon balls, cooked meat, and a starter of two salad leaves, a half tomato, a quarter of an avocado and mayo from a bottle. The crêpes suzettes are ALWAYS cold and when you complain they are returned to the microwave and come back as leather.
We have five star London and Paris prices, and give you two star Blackpool quality. We should learn that worldwide competition is a fact in tourism. Having some elephants and Rhinos and buffalos crossing a river no longer cuts it or some nolstagic stories on David Livingstone or Out of Africa setting to justify the drivel is ignorant and hugely being misinformed about the world as it is today.
We need to wake up like yesterday, Customer service is non existent, I never get it why employ staff who clearly would rather be anywhere - Walk in to any 2- star hotel in Jaipur India and see what service is or just cross to the aging uncle bob's "The smoke that thunders" resorts and see what 5 star experience is!!
I don't get it and probably never will but this crap has to come to an end..
We still are wondering why we hosted over 40 presidents and only 1 - went to see buffalo's crossing a river, wonder no more..
The greatest danger in times of turbulence is not the turbulence; it is to act with yesterday's logic.
