Is it that these KPLC employees do not know the dangers of their jobs? Why do we have so many cases of electrocutions?

Poor equipment and training.

This is not a job to be kijuakali. Compare those guys in that first video with this guy:

A light blue KPLC labcoat is not safety gear. You need to have safety gear to do this kind of work.

Someone needs to sue this negligence is unacceptable

Most of KPLC power lines infrastructure works is subcontracted. There in lies the problem!!!!

Seems like those people contracted to work on street lights and mulika mwizis. Then their hoisting equipment touched the live wires. Sad. Hope they recovered.

I still don't understand how subcontracting should mean such safety measures should be thrown out the window by default, it's not a valid reason

This is a serious indictment on our engineering training institutions. #VerySad. They are sending their graduates to early deaths via the "electric chair/cables".

Indeed they do. I think there was some miscommunication between the subcontracted guys and kplc. By the time the main switch was being turned on(which is around 4 or 5pm when maintenance work for the day is expected to have been finished) , these guys were still up there.
