It's ironic that some people are calling this a "Western import" and they quote the bible in the same breath. If I remember correctly, none of our African ancestors were homophobic Christians before the EUROPEAN MISSIONARIES came and handed us the bible and convinced us that it was the TRUE WORD of some deity called God. They didn't even bother to provide a shred of evidence but today we swear by the bible and this deity called God. Christianity is the western import of all western imports.

This is in no way an attack to your faith but if the fundamental teaching of your faith is judgement and intolerance rather than love and acceptance, then your faith has no place in the 21st century. Again I say to you, good people do good things and bad people do bad things but it takes religion for good people to do bad things. You might be a good person but your religion has taught you to hate and condemn rather than to love and accept. If religion was about love, then gay people would be running to churches because they'd be guaranteed love and acceptance by the religious people. But gay people run away from churches and from religious people because you're the ones who show them hatred the most. Just sad.
