It will buy medical equipment for the children cancer treatment unit. According to Maina the equipment will be purchased directly from the manufacturer.

This is public money and for transparency sake and ensuring our money is used well, how will the manufacturer be chosen as I know there must be many manufacturers.

Someone should go to court if they buy direct from the manufacturer as this is illegal.

Yenyewe even donors from kiashland also demand to know how their donations are spent, even how equipment are procured. Local donors should also demand transparency and accountability.

If he is not audited properly and procurement not done correctly then a friend whose fortunes have dwindled is considering a similar mission to raise campaign funds.

@mawinder is right on this, kenyans are too emotional and superstitious, afraid of witchcraft. If they question money raised for ugonjwa especially for kid they think it will come back to them.
Even if one did not contribute the cash, making sure the cash is accounted for is also a contribution, and a healthy thing. Otherwise theft and curruption when it comes to public funds starts like that, no questions attitude.

It's good to raise funds, BUT... If KNH and NHIF are the recipients then chances are it is a useless venture. Buy equipment for KNH that will get stolen, break down or gather dust in a corner? Buy consumables that cost 30k and leave them under the watchful eye of a nurse who earns 16k? Give the funds to a KNH who will offer 3 out of 7 courses of chemo and use the rest of the money to fuel the director's car. Why are we doing the government's job? KNH is a level 6 facility directly under the MoH. If it cannot take care of children in the cancer ward, it should be shut down like Uchumi? "Occasionally I drop a tea cup to shatter on the floor. On purpose. I am not satisfied when it does not gather itself up again. Someday perhaps that cup will come together."

We already pay taxes for that but Health CS steals and misuses the taxes. He should be taken to NIC and a competent person to replace him.He is not qualified and is a total fool in medical matters.

It would make more sense for him to sponsor the treatment of sick kids from poor families in a private hospital like Aga Khan
