@laikipia, let me try to answer your question.

The globally recognized risk management certification is the FRM offered by GARP. There is a local chapter of GARP in Kenya.

The exam is a 2-level online affair covering risk valuation models, QT, BASEL I,II & III, ethics and others.

You may want to google frm vs cfa to see the similarities and differences with the better known cfa.
