The state of Indiana has passed a law that basically protects businesses from being sued if they refuse to sell goods and services to people based on their (business) religious beliefs.

At the moment, there are some businesses e.g. bakeries and caterers that refuse to bake cakes or cater for Gay weddings. The Gay couple could sue these businesses for discrimination. With the new law, you cannot sue the businesses because they can simply say that their religion does not allow them to play any role in a Gay marriage.

There is furore from all corners of the US from Apple's CEO to Hillary Clinton, Starbucks, PayPal etc.

Question: Should I be required by the law to cater for an LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) wedding for example? Personally I would have a problem with that! Exactly where do you draw the line between my freedoms and the freedom of others?

I support the spirit of the law. Others would call it discriminatory. What is your take?

MaichBlack its great that you are willing to tetea your "religion" but you do know that South Bend Indiana is one of those areas where being a white person was a "religious" thing and being black was heathen according to the "Bible".

So even Alphdoti can refuse to serve you because you are a kafir?

Why do christians think that their discrimination is better than the other guy's discrimination? The only thing you are gay people.

Think outside the box for a second in your life and stop having happy gay thoughts all the time.

@alma - I agree with you that there is a very thin line here. And that is why I specifically asked "Where do you draw the line...?".

But my question is, should I be required (forced actually) by the law to cater for an LGBT wedding??

And mind you, this is not about Christians unless you are just fixated on Christians. Muslims for example don't advocate for homosexuality! There are actually more LGBTs (even on per capita basis) who identify themselves as Christians than Muslims (or any other religion for that matter).

Kindly take off your goggles.

At the earliest possible sign of discrimination/bigotry? Even when you do not hold the same values as the human being receiving the discrimination...Cuz you do not know when the line will creep up/down to include you

Dangerous law. Yet I like it but for entirely different reasons.

What if I do not believe, as the shopkeeper does, that there is going to be rapture? He can refuse to sell to me.

How I wish this law was quickly adopted, modified and implemented everywhere!

Is there a difference between the dollars paid by a Christian and the dollars from a LGBT?

Thought business is business?
