Alright, so Nation Media Group are announcing results. Selection of comments (I'll skip the griping about government tweets). These operational information is always so bright, but the bottom-line flat (Dividend 10/-)

@BD_Africa profits up 85% and revenues up 10% ~ @LGtwits #NMGResults
Television in Kenya had a great year. Advertising revenue up 23%, operating profit up 1,754% #NMGResults
#ChurchillShow is the biggest on TV in Kenya - @LGtwits #NMGResults

TV contributes just 5% of profits, Y U NO GROW PROFITS? If TV contributes that small amount then the digital migration bump shouldnt have been felt. This heavy reliance on daily nation sales is bad. The newer generation wont have the habit to buy a paper daily like the older generation. They need to find a new large source of revenue.

D&B Commentary:Quote: Our view
Revenues from the newspaper division has continued to decline on falling circulation volumes. This presents a huge risk, considering circulation revenue accounts for c70 per cent of the total revenue.
With the onset of digital migration, consumers have a wider offering of broadcast media increasing competition for nation media. Previously, broadcast division was a futuristic line of growth for the company, through new channels.
Digital media remains a key line of growth for Nation Media, as increased access and usage of internet continues to drive traffic to its online sites.

Your return over the last two years: -15% Whichever price point you pick from 2013, this share has underperformed all indexes. In fact, exactly 1 yr ago price was 310/-, exactly 2 yrs ago price was 275/-, today price is 254/-. Just thank lady luck... (NMG vs NASI)
