A few years ago, one of the big embassies in Nairobi decided to verify the certificates of all its Kenyan employees after a few of them brought fake certificates. Most of those who had fake ones were my brothers and sisters from the Ekegusii community. They were sent home.
True, also remember in 2005 when the us embassy did a swoop on visa applicants holding fake papers, no prizes for guessing the majority tribe that was affected
It goes to show that our brothers are smart and will never let a piece of paper stand between them and their dream opportunities.
Glorifying theft has become heroic in Kenya.

Abagusi 'steals' exams with wanton abandon. two cases at point. We sat exams with one of them who attained C plain in KCSE, he did not repeat but guess what, we completed campus together. no parallel programs then, only regulars joined THE.(He faked his papers)
A friend who was posted in kisiiland as a teacher was almost interdicted when he became strict on supervising KCSE exams. Everybody there was wondering why the teacher from 'outside'wanted to spoil for them. he had to be posted to RV.
