Safaricom is very smart, allow all banks to lend via Mpesa, collect transaction fees and some fees through the agreement for infrastructure use. Note no Risk for Safaricom. Africa belongs to Africans.

If Equitel also comes into the picture guys are dead meat! There are guys who will be borrowing Mshwari.....pay using another loan from KCB.....and pay KCB with one from Equitel. Formally employed people often live their employers' dream & forget about their own.

The only way KCB can succeed so well with the getting of deposits from mpesa is to get a spot in the mpesa menu instead of another USSD. They already had one where you can open an account etc... just get safaricom to place KCB Mpesa right below M-Shwari and people will no longer have to spend so much time on USSD which we never remember. I cant even remember the one for Pepea card. Humans are designed to follow the easiest route. I stack emergency funds on mshwari

With this arrangement however you get this done on the comfort of your sofa set while watching cartoons and sipping bone soup. Wakora muno muno muno.... Interest is charged upfront and loan amount sits with KCB until you transfer to mpesa. Very clever!!! Formal education will make you a living. Self-education will make you a fortune - Jim Rohn.
