I think investing in the market going forward is too risky. I will stay out of the market in 2015 and await the blood in the streets in 2016. Perhaps it is a good time to learn new investment arenas apart from the stock market.

Buy Scangroup at below 46 sell at 57 after results.

Centum- Interesting projects in the pipeline and shall be riding it the next couple of years. It would also be interesting to see other than Rea Vipingo & Lamu coal power deal,whether they shall be venturing into another mammoth project.Perhaps cement with Dangote?

Kenol Kobil-Other than obvious return to profitability;keen on experiencing impact of lower international crude vs not so low pump prices.Perhaps some (speculative) collusion between industry and regulator to keep prices artificially high to improve revenues of some of the marketers.Importantly will they finally be awarded the over 4 Bil Grand Mullah awarded them in the case vs Kenya Refinery.

Other specultive trades for a modest 30% gain include Uchumi post rights (i still think its a possible M&A candidate circa 2016);

Portland-What happened to the Dangote take over story?

Transcentury-If they win the Mui coal basin energy deal,potential for some upside and re-energising of the company shall be in the offing

Unless there is a bear market and some stocks take a serious beating, only then will I buy them at a discounted price. I think investing now is a case of choosing a lesser evil. Too few opportunities in 2015 and hence I am not ready to play that game.

Equity Bank (subsidiary growth outside Kenya, expansion to other countries about to happen), Safaricom (data business about to take off and introduction of home internet which is very lucrative, Lipa na Mpesa a new revenue stream in mpesa), Kenya Power (street lighting revenues about to go up, 1 million new customers, newer infrastructure will reduces losses of electricity, cheaper power will lead to customers consuming more units so make more profits per unit), KCB (City Council accounts, more business customer accounts all these lead to more deposits which can be lent out, growth in mortgage business which might overshadow housing finance, sudan settling down), Centum (just so many different young project growing very fast, vast amount of real estate and lots of funding at their disposal)
