Hi,

I would kindly like to gain advice or leads to information regarding real estate development financing. I have heard of projects whereby landowners partner with financing institutions to develop buildings on land owned then recover their money from rental income from such properties such that after some years (5 to 10 years or so) the bank recovers their capital plus interest and the building remains the landowner's. Unfortunately, I personally do not know anyone who has done this. Does anyone have information/experience/advice that can make this clearer? Also if there are previous discussions on this kindly point me to them - I have searched but haven't seen.

@its2013, you can try joint ventures if your land is in a place that can attract jv partners. most jv partnerships are geared towards sale of units. you can opt to rent your units instead but almost certainly, the jv partner will sell his and move on to another biz.

Good idea. I personally wouldn't mind a jv and if the other party wants to sell I can retain my share as I am thinking of setting up an institution on a floor or two.
