Investors are willing to buy a stock at a premium if they foresee good prospects in the future. Remember not many years ago Coop was paying 10 cents dividends.

You just can't understand these results; everything so positive, then so lack lustre at the bottom! But at a P/E of 9.85 based on yesterday's price. The market is happy and the share is now up 6%.

Net earned premiums +25%
Total income +22%
Then net claims adverse by (1.6bn) and opex (0.4bn);
leading to total worse outgo -27%

They blame bad claims experience in medical, motor private, employee group life.
Dividend 0.10 per share; Bonus 1:5

As long as CIC continues offering medical and employee group life mostly to parastatals they will continue to bleed. Ten-foot pole till then

True it is a welcome move. I hope the increased share capital will be utilized well during their expansion strategy, not just diluting the shares.

Seems opinion is quite divided if to Buy/Hold/Sell. It will be interesting to see how the prices play out between now and books closure in June.

The financial performance is below par. The bonus & Malawi thing is doing it in keeping the share price afloat.
