1. How many shares can one buy in a company?At the NSE, the minimum you can buy is 100 shares in any company of your choice, the maximum depends as follows;
- If a Local, you can buy 100% of the listed shares, i.e. ALL SHARES ON OFFER (AVAILABLE),
- if a foreigner (Non-East African), you can buy upto 75% of the company's shares, but exceptions are allowed on application e.g. Essar and Airtel. Rumour has it that this rule will be phased out soon.
2.What is the best company to invest at the moment?The best company to invest in at the moment is the one that will give you maximum returns on your investment according to your PLAN! It would help if you could give us your budget, timelines and risk appetite!
