Yeap.. not a gain until realized
but reason why I cant complain is that I have seen it all and done it all..
I bought my first share way back in 2006 and have held a defensive play since then.. With minimal capital gains.. I have lost a few coins here and there
but at least managed to preserve most of the capital with most of the losses been offset by either dividends or the minimal gains over the years..
All this time, been a disciple of wazua, I have taken time to learn and accumulate knowledge via the many posts through the community..
So earlier this year, I decided to sell most of my holdings and start a fresh;
not at a loss of course
but with the little gains I had accumulated.. I restructured my portfolio and bet big on some counters that I believed had a great potential..
6 months down the line, things are better and have seen 70% return on some counters..
My confidence has grown from almost nil knowledge in 2006 (funny didn't even know what P.E. meant
) to a more confident me who can now analyze financial statements, risk big and most all make good returns
To those starting, invest in knowledge as its the only way and patience is a virtue you need to gain.. many know the year 2008-2009
All in all, I wouldn't be where I am now without the endless knowledge shared by the likes of @Stockmaster, @guru267, @hisah, @mlennyma, @vituVingiSana, @ericsson etc.. and many more I have not mentioned here.. so keep up the good work
