The Western brand of thinking can't contain the challenges of the present world, but the traditional African 'systems' have all the necessary ingredients for a peaceful and prosperous world, and universal brotherhood and freedom.
And sweeter still is that even the challenges outlined in the 'Laussane spirit' are so easy to surmount!
Freedom at last.

Freedom at last. Christianity introduced a merciful, forgiving God who recognised our weakness for sin! The result: Adopting sin as a way of life with the very small consequence of "saying sorry" Christians are now lovers of sin as it intrigues them! I wonder if it Is it possible to find a popular tv show or movie today missing murder, deceit, adultery, fornication, lust, greed, and satanism?? btw Majority of the people acting these things are at church come Sunday! I've even heard gays and lesbians asking me to cast the first stone if I am without sin! Mark 12:29 Deuteronomy 4:16

guru267 wrote:Islam is generally in line with the ATR!! You have a point @Guru. Just slight addition. Islam is in line with ATR, but bit advanced in the sense that Islam has come to regulate things, which were practiced in the wrong way in ATR. It regulated it by bringing in limits and responsibility. Sadly in other ways of life (read religions) like Christianity, it is a license to promiscuity. Because, mostly they go by Western culture or traditions. Many miss to understand that for Muslims, standards of morality are not set by Western culture or thinking. But it is set by divine revelation. Also, very importantly Islam has not come up with anything new. All the practices in Islam, were noticeable among all ancient communities. Which include African traditions, the Hindu, There was, Babylons, Persian etc

Freedom at last. What are these challenges? What is the western brand of thinking/culture and finally what the traditional african 'systems'?

Below are some example problems the Western culture has failed to solve, include: (1). Problem of poverty (2). Problem alcoholism and drug abuse (3). Problem of excess women (4). Problem of prostitution (5). Problem of breakdown family unit (6). etc NOTE: To expound on "problem" of povertyYou know we have enough in the universe to feed whole humanity. Why people die of obesity in America? While some die of poverty in Somalia? Because of unequal distribution of wealth. Also removal of interest will help (because too much interest, means less in the hands of people)

I don't mean the "son of God" (inverted comas). This has an interesting origin. The primitive man in Meditarenian region..neighbours to the Egyptians. He could see the sun burning back and forth in the southern hemisphere, receding from them. And day by day, it started getting colder and colder, 20th of Dec, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th it is getting colder and colder And on 25th the devil trying to swallow the sun (in the mind of the primitive man). Actually, these are happening astronomically..but the primitive man following the sun and could feel the change in temperature and they say now the sins of darkness, the devil has been overcome by the sun. The sun is rebornit is born again, the sun coming back on its own on 25th, 26th, 27th etc getting warmer and warmer. So 25th of Dec was the turn of the tide, in the heaven (i.e. skies). So the sun is being born, The Sun, not the "son of God". So this is how the early church adopted an holiday. This was the pagan holidaythe pagans creates an holiday. And the Christians saw that these people are acommodative around that day, so they adopted that day. And they started celebrating Christmas.

Also removal of interest will help (because too much interest, means less in the hands of people) educate me on the highlighted. specifically, in what context, what constitutes excess and why it is a problem. You see, the Western world have a problem of excess women, which they don't have a solution to the problem. Remember the American statistic...tells us that there are 7.8million more women than men in America, who can't get husbands. If every man in America got married, there is still about 8 million women who can't get husbands. I'm asking in the book of God that the Western brought, which Christians are now boasting about, what is the solution to this problem? Let me give you some little backgroundabout these evangelists and the Western thinking. 1. Jimmy Sweggata reknown Christian evangelist, had a laugh another time on TV at the expense of the Muslims. He said "Islam allows 4 wives, upto 4. Christianity only allows one, so I had to get the best on the first short". So you see he says Christianity allows only one and he had to choose the best. And you know what my friend? The best was not good enough! He goes to a prostitute average of twice a month, for his satisfaction.Look all these televengalist, all one by one they are all falling. 2. Reverend Marvin Gormanhe appears on television, televengalising millions, he was caught with a prostitute. 3. Reverend Jim Bakkerhe was caught with Jessica Hahn, another prostitute. 4. Have you been reading the news in the last few weeks?Have you seen the way Catholic Church is on the limelight for all kinds of sexual scandals! I say they laugh at the African cultures or Muslims...saying it is foolish. But at last the laugh is on them. You see the Westerners who are bringing you all these nonesense have a problem, Americans, the British, the French, the Germans ... all of them. To this day, there is no solution in their book! No solution! African traditions or Islam gives an answer to this problem. You can check out what the African Traditions say. See what the Quran says. They were much superior.

Some aspects of African culture contribute to our own poverty notably through corruption.

@ alphdoti....are you implying that if all men married more than one wife, the "implied" problem of excess women would be solved? that men would have no business going for prostitutes and that all women would get husbands, (assumig all are looking for husbands)? that the problem of excess women is a religious problem?

What about the ten commandments and the egyptian book of the dead? There is nothing I have seen so absurd as what peolpe have done to change the Ten Commandments! This change has allowed them to perform so much idolatryThe the church is so smart, especially Roman Catholic, just like the pagan of Egypt. First, you remember the Catholic Church originally changed the Sabbath to Sunday, to comform to the pagan sun worship. This is because the Church was driven into Sun Worship. Secondly, the Egyptian statues were given Christian names, Example the Statue of St. Peter in St. Peters Cathedral was originally the statue of the pagan god Jupiter. Can you imagine this statue's foot...was kissed away and has been replaced because of the number of Catholics that bowed down to this statue and kissed its foot! What can you call this, other than "idolatry"? It was originally pagan god. There is something else, the biggest sun-dial in the world, an eight-rayed sun wheel, located in St. Peters Square in Vatican. It orignally a symbol of god Ishtar!

What do you think? Remember the title of the thread. I honestly think it is wrong to "insinuate" as your post does that being a woman contributes to the problems in this world. What do you want mothers of girls to do? kill them because there are already enough women, infact excess? I think it is a superficial way of thinking about women in relation to religion/culture. Please note that i only raise the point of excess women. I am no authority in cultures/religions and what came with who, and who practices what. I just don't understand where women enter the equation. correct me if am wrong about your post.
