Blackberry on Verizon - unlocking

I received a blackberry bold from America written Verizon. It cannot browse at all. It doesn't respond to the *144# codes as well.

To load credit,it must be sambazwad.

Anyone knows how I can unlock it to enable me browse and send emails with it?

What model of BB do you have. If it's world phone with sim tray and SIM card then it will work in Kenya.....otherwise Verizon is a CDMA like and not GSM aka the ones with SIM cards. Good luck though.

Welcome to the world of Blackberry from verizon. I have had bold 9500 from verizon. Same problem i.e cant browse at all, wont respond to *144#,*544# and all such codes.
Since its a CDMA phone i was told by the blackberry guys locally that my phone works like a roaming client from Verizon hence wont get blackberry service at all from the local providers Safcon or airtell. Only Verizon wireless can give you internet service. A small consolation though is to load opera mini on your device.

Anyone knows how to unblock HTC from Telstra? It receives and sends calls and texts but cannot browse. The telstra gateway is locked onto the device. Anyone who can help?
