The Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA) was passed on Thursday 18 April 2013 by the US House of Representatives. Ref- http://tinyurl.com/cfrlxdn
The bill allows private businesses to legally share customers' personal information with any US government entity, including the National Security Agency without the customers approval. Yes, this bill would allow major internet entities such as Facebook, Twitter and Google to voluntarily share your personal information with the U.S. Government without your knowledge. This will not only effect users in the United States, but also anyone with an account with these companies. Today Monday, April the 22nd, citizens of the internet are invited to join in a internet blackout. All web developers and website owners are requested to go dark on this date. Display a message as to why you are going dark, and encourage others to do the same. It is hoped that just like the successful protest over the Stop Online Piracy Act, these actions can encourage the US Senate to stop this bill. #CISPABlackout

as "we" were in "fear" and distracted by the Boston marathon bombings whose drama ended Friday, this happened on Thursday...recall 9/11 then the rushed Patriot Act, Boston Marathon -> CISPA?... Mike McCaul, a Republican from Texas, attempted to draw a comparison between the terror attack in Boston on Monday and cyberterrorism, to draw support for the CISPA bill's aim to improve security. "Recent events in Boston demonstrate that we have to come together as Republicans and Democrats," he said, according to Reuters.
"In the case of Boston, there were real bombs," said McCaul. "In this case, they are digital bombs – and these digital bombs are on their way."...so waive your freedoms...

“As long as enough people can be frightened, then all people can be ruled. That is how it works in a democratic system and mass fear becomes the ticket to destroy rights across the board.” - James Bovard
