I was in Uganda the other day and I was shocked that they can openly tell you how much they earn in salary.
Here you could be earning less than your junior and never know. Some people don't even know how much their husbands or wives earn. Why is it so?

If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.

I stopped being secretive on what i earn and own some years back after a person we respected so much abruptly died and none of his immediate family (woman+children) knew what he owned apart from the mansion they lived in.
All they could do was to go to KRA and reverse trace his assets from his PIN. It was hell and some of his assets will never be traced. It does not make sense at all.
The only thing i have not written is my will!

@BGL, very true in deed. there is no use of being secrative, while you have chums stashed away only to die abruptly abd leave your family in misery. why were you working hard in the first place.

Ugandans are unique, they'll even openly tell you they have HIV. And its no big deal, they don't expect you to treat them any differently

He'll not answer this one and neither do I think it's necessary since when you die it's (salary) no longer important or is it? As for property I can't see the point of not disclosing unless as you know it (especially in Kenya) it is corruptly acquired.

Why marry a woman you cannot trust? Just do a 'come we stay'.
I make sure my wife knows what I earn and what I own just in case. Think about it, even if she leaves with all your stuff you already know the formula to making more and you will leave this earth with nothing.

Applause Applause It's called growing up. When one realizes that all material things are vanity, and that giving and/or sharing gives more joy than hoarding and/or receiving, they cease being material slaves.
