It depends on what you mean 'better'! If better means high milk production, then I remember from farming experience and agricultural courses that Friesian was #1; followed by Ayshire and then Guernsey. However, in terms of butter fat content which is important for ghee or cheese making, then Guernsey ranks first, followed by Ayrshire and then Friesian. I would also think its important to consider agroclimatic zone since different dairy cattle breeds perform better under different climatic conditions. For example, do you live in low elevations like Voi where its hot and dry or do you live in high elevations like the slopes of a mount Elgon where its cold and wet?
