I'm my day dreams, this will be my gate-away when I want to 'hide' at the coast.. due to its close proximity to the beach (5th row or something like that).

But in the meantime, I'd like to generate some income. Please give me ideas

It's a distance from the main road.. Do you reckon it will get tenants?

is MRC active there? many hotels in that area tend to under-perform. i dont know why. perhaps distance from mombasa/mtwapa?? perhaps the general under-development eg lack of roads, water? be wary of squatters.

Yes I am.. Start small and target the staff members? Sounds like a great idea. I should have posted this eons ago!

Squatters are my greatest fear! Good thing the villagers nearby are being processed for their titles ie they are being made legitimate owners of the land they squatted on. I've had a nearby villager farm on it, on agreement to plant a fence. For the last 8 or so years, he's done his planting but I'm yet to see a fence, tho' its kept 'invaders' away.

Just said will not comment till somebody mentions them.
My Aunt has lived in coast all her life and invested in Land those sides of South Coast ukienda na Ukunda.
In 2007? she could not set foot on her land!!
They didn't grab but they couldn't stand 'an outsider'.
After that episode, she subdivided the entire land and sold it all to wenjeji.Vowed never to invest huko ndani mashinani.
If u build houses, have locals as tenants cz they will protect your mali.

Is your comment, advise to sell? South coast was where there were clashes. In the North, we have waheshimiwa, watoka bara, SACCOS and white neighbors all around.. Not to mention beach hotels and private cottages. Maybe you should advice your Aunt to come over (But only if people are able to live with her)

Its okay.Esp.ur last sentence.
But what is happening now is not making anything better fro investors.
They shoulld learn to tolerate other people.

I'm still debating on swahili houses vis–à–vis planting something sellable.

Swahili houses need a concrete foundation, no? That would be a significant investment considering in the long-run this will be a holiday home/cottages.
If ALoe vera, Moringa etc can grow there, then that might be the way forward. My farmhand whats to try his hand at planting seedlings for re-sale. I've given him the space provided he plants me a fence, goats there are notorious for eating up young fences.

@Tigger, why do you ask?
