I enjoy listening to radio and one of my favourite programs is "On Point" which is hosted by Tom Ashbrook of WBUR Boston on National Public Radio (NPR). Each show lasts about 45 minutes. He hosts experts in various fields, most of them writers and he engages them in the most in depth and intelligent conversations I have ever heard on radio.

I have just enjoyed listening to this program here and just wanted to share for those who may enjoy shows of this kind:

Enjoy.

...I used to listen to NPR a lot before Worldspace radio went under...especially "The Car Talk" show... Other than online, where can I listen to NPR

I too was introduced to NPR by Worldspace and you are right "Car Talk" is hilarious I still listen to it. Right now I listen to all my radio online. I am yet to find something like worldspace that would allow you to receive it anywhere.

Another favourite "Sportsworld with Russell Fuller on BBC World Service on Saturdays and Sundays." The passion is infectious. I have celebrated goals of teams I probably would not watch playing that am sure would probably look ordinary but in my imagination based on the excitement of the commentators have been most spectacular.

NPR can still be found on Sirius xm.

Satellite radio did not catch on in Africa. @Magigi, what model did you have?

How to make one visualize a scene just from listening is a rare skill. Did the Bonga Boli competition discover the next local Russel Fuller?

...Worldspace was all Africa when it was introduced. My Hitachi gave in last year and I threw it away.
