Hello there, My name is Mia.

I am African by birth, but I grew up abroad (Canada).
I am now a grown woman, almost 30, and I have made the wonderful decision to return back to the amazing continent of Africa.
I run an amazing small business here in Canada in the midwest, and I have decided to expand this business idea to Nairobi kenya.

I am interested in starting a business marketing agency.
outdoor digital advertising displays are a revolutionary form of business marketing that allows your business to communicate a message to consumers and promote your products, brands, and services, around busy communal areas.
There are free standing high reliability all weather outdoor LED digital displays that are strategically placed all across the city, around busy public areas that are accessible by thousands of passing pedestrians and motorists. They allow your business to target audiences in a highly engaging manner with our high resolution graphic ads that entice the passerby’s attention.

I will be bringing all my equipment and displays with me.
My targeted clientele will be small to large scale businesses and/or any company of any size or individual needing to promote and/or advertise its goods and services.

My main question is; is there a business of such in Nairobi or anywhere in Kenya, and if not, do u think there is a chance of success and profitability within Nairobi with this tech savvy business?

Thanks, and I look forward to your detailed responses :)

I have seen a few of these on buildings in Nairobi City..but I find them too bright and thus avoid looking at them lest they damage my eyes...
Is Canada 110 volts or 240 volts?
Another problem you will encounter is licensing with the City council though I do not know how it is done..

Welcome to Wazua, such businesses do exist outdoors and indoors in Supermarkets etc. We also have mobile ones Though I don't think there are digital mobile ones, if not guess in only a matter of time.

If I was in your position I would organise for a trip first to Kenya carry out a survey and decide the best way to go. Investing could be a whole new idea when you move to a different continent.
How about visiting Kenya with an open mind, look for questions needing answers and think about the answers?

@Mio more.

Hey, I have heard of that idea before not from a business person but a mayor of a city in Kenya, what he was looking for is someone to invest on that and in return he was offering a free licences his motivation was to run a city with no posters. Among other offers, he was also offering free land for anyone who wanted to get into garbage cleaning business, that was two years ago, non of that interest me and I did not follow up and he did not follow up either, I had a chat with him two weeks ago but this time he wasn't interested in talking business he was more interested in politics, I guess it is election time and Mayor isn't interested in business at the moment

Its quite sad that he decided to go politics rather than let opportunities he would have created speak for him. anywho, i am also interested, especially in the garbage job! am sure @mio is also interested in the advert biz too, so when you get intouch with him again, kindly talk to him and let us know what says he!
