At the very minimal from the bullish(positive) outlook. By the way, the stock markets ride on sentiment, and KK is at the heart of it!
Otherwise there's a lot more to be done before we even get to production! In UG, oil was discovered in 2006 & until now, they have not reached production stage!you can read more here...

It will benefit as they will be able to sell cheaper oil and thus higher quantities. However, this will be some years down the line.
Wisdom to detect when share prices hit rock bottom.
When interest on bonds keep going up, you know the bear run is on high street. When interest on bonds start leveling, the bear has met the bull and they have hit rock bottom. When the interest rates on bonds start coming down, the bull has overpowered the bear and you better be riding the bull.

And again maybe not if they don't position themselves well. We know the Gov't and the guys drilling will have an upper hand. KK could lose from the lucrative monthly crude tendering and the gov't could maintain the margins the oil companies make the same.

On the other hand we'll need to do something about our roads and put in place proper transport policies. I can't imagine the nightmare our roads would turn to if we had cheap fuel and everyone owning a car.

BBI will solve it

Somebody mentioned in the earlier thread of Total being the big winner in the Ug Oil, could this apply for Turkana too and does it explain the 10% surge today?

Keep your eyes on KK....

Should KK not suffer from this? KK business model is to import crude from Middle East, refine and distribute. With crude available locally that model is disrupted. Its not safe to assume that KK will be effective in carrying out the inevitable change in business model. We may need to study what happened to existing marketers when oil was discovered in Nigeria.

@young et al, did OMCs benefit in Nigeria?

KK is pan-African not limited to Kenyan operations.

tempted to sell KK at KSh 12.00+ and lock in 25%+ gains... and reboard when prices dip after books closure...

just not sure how far down prices will dip... or if they will dip at all given the probable announcement of an interim dividend in 2-3 months...

maybe better to hold and wait...

Decisions, decisions...

Well, to be fair, they did announce one (ID) in July last year...
