"For male teachers, they will be able to get circumcised and have vasectomy as part of family planning."
...Salaaaaaaaaalaaaa...!!! Does it mean that most teachers are not circumcised?
...2nd wives included in the scheme!...Are teachers that polygamous?

...Where is the Government printer to delete "vasectomy" and insert "castration" instead?

This will not be "Inadvertently regrettable"

How many wives does the one for parliamentarians cover? Eight or something?

Seriously though, you may not agree with (or care about) one man marrying many wives, but you've got to appreciate the notional value of things like these. You know, polygamy was very much a part of us as Africans until the white missionaries came and subverted our way of life. In those days it was perfectly normal and nobody took offense. And like it or not, some people still hang on to this practice. To appreciate it as a local occurrence deserving of a local solution is, to me, testimony that we are willing to stand up and be proud of our heritage.

If these sorts of home grown solutions can be cascaded to other parts of our African experience - to education and to art, to sports and to technology, to leadership and to conflict resolution - maybe we will finally find something that works for us and for our circumstances. Just maybe.

Disclaimer: I have only one wife... (not Lucy)... you all know her...
