ePAY-KENYA offers online payment solutions to a wide range of users including online shoppers, people who work and get paid online, merchants who wish to showcase and sell their products and services to the global market. In the advent of an exponential growth in Mobile Money Transfer services coupled by a healthy growth in the online community who are engaged in various activities via the internet for a livelihood, ePAY-KENYA has continued to offer various e-commerce solutions which have translated into convenience and efficiency to end users. Take for instance an online writer who gets paid via Moneybookers and wishes to cash in the virtual money through ePAY-KENYA. Our promise is to have the money delivered within the hour. The recipient no longer requires to visit a bank or ATM machine as he (she) can utilize that time making more money. Another example is that of a person who wishes to pay for a product or service online but is limited by lack of a credit card. Again, from the comfort of his (her) home or office, this person can forward the money to ePAY-KENYA via Mpesa and we will make the payment on his (her) behalf.

We are about Speed, Safety and Customer Relation. Opening an account with ePAY-KENYA is FREE, signup @ http://epay-kenya.com/members/signup.htm to find out why many would rather use ePAY-KENYA as their trusted Online Payment Solution.

Would be nice to reveal your true identity if you have to advice the public about 'scams'. Am not sure what you know about 'insecure sites' but I would advice you to do a little more background check about us before engaging in what I would call 'hate comments'. A simple suggestion which will cost you nothing is google search, and you will be able to form an honest opinion based on what our customers are saying about ePAY-KENYA.

Wazua is a serious platform for serious minds and I would request you to refrain from such negative comments if you do not have any evidence of anyone who has been scammed by ePAY-KENYA.

Maybe this can assist you:

http://internetincomereg...ew-by-a-satisfied-user/

http://iamvistawriting.w...ites-in-kenya/#comments

We have served thousands of Kenyans for the last three years and if we have scammed anyone, you should be able to find some negative publicity on the internet.

Finally, since you are anonymous, why don't you try our services, then you can voice your opinion based on a tangible first hand experience?

I have heard of e-pay and I think they are a serious outfit. Very convenient esp for those that loathe credit cards like me

I like the idea but as @DtheK says your fees are way too high. e.g. $25.00 for bank transfer!

We are currently using an expensive 3rd party gateway and are working towards signing up with a cheaper one pretty soon. Most of our rates will go down there after (most likely in a week's time)

After opening the account and pre-loading it, who accepts e-pay as a means of payment. Your website doesn't say much.
Secondly like paypal can you link this e-pay to a credit card and or a bank account?
Lastly, if you pay somebody for a service or goods and they are not delivered how do you resolve the dispute.

@BGL, thank you for your inquiry. We introduced the Merchant module on the 1st Jan 2012. Currently we have one company that has signed up to the merchants module - http://kenyanhiphop.com/?music - and we are in the process of approving another 5 by end of this week. We are currently not keen on linking accounts to credit cards (though we have the feature). We however have the Bank account feature active. Our Buyer Protection Policy/disclaimer is that Merchants can only withdraw their proceeds from a sale after 48 hours within which time we sensitize customers to ensure that they buy products from certified merchants and that they need to raise any disputes within 36 hours after purchasing a product to allow for arbitration by ePAY-KENYA. If the case is in favour of the buyer, the money is reversed back to his/her account. I hope I have answered you questions adequately, if not I would be glad to clarify further.

Ok as much as I understand this is a business, the fees are still way too high.

I can send a bank transfer from mneybookers at around $2.5 regardless of the amount so why do I have to give you guys 11% (am still not convinced about this because there is a fee for sending from moneybookers, and another one for sending to mpesa....plus the very high withdrawal fees on mpesa)

In business, you also have to study competitors like on a worst case scenarion, I probably have to pay 5% correspondent bank charges(not all the time)

So, whats really good about this service?

The good thing about ePay is the fact that you can withdraw money from PayPal and get it within the hour. I have not found any other service that does that.

Another great thing about them is the fact that it is a legit system and not a scam therefore you actually GET your money.

On the flipside their charges are still high compared to Moneybookers Bank Transfer or PayPal withdrawal via Payoneer US Payment Service.

The idea is great. It is helping Kenyans as our banks are still retarded.

But it would be good to warn those using the system that it is against Paypal terms. That can't be swept under the carpet. At anytime, PayPal can close those accounts.

But I still think its a risk worth taking as none of these other companies want to help Kenyans out online.

Actually Alma there is a safer method through which your account will not have problems. I am going to blog about it soon and update it here. This particular method has negligible commissions.

That would be great.

People have no idea how fickle paypal is. All that needs to happen is someone issuing a chargeback and this idea down. Or worse a competitor reporting them and everyone's account is in trouble.

We just need a Kenyan bank to grow up.
