However the market is not very optimistic- The price has 'refused' to rally. ( But then again Mr market doesn't give a hoot these days about good results or even bonuses , he has a mind of his own.

I remember with lots of nolstalgia seeing the stock rise to 180 on that day on good volumes. Ofcourse they had done a 1:5 bonus and a 5:1 split! @SufficientlyP

With clean hands am seated at the table waiting for the meat from the cows in their shambas, which has been slaughtered, marinated and cooking on low fire, after which i will top dress it as QW says, with sasini tea..... though am skeptical of the cook, you know the games he plays elsewhere i might only be served with mahuu and soup from the meat..... (well as my friends from central say "ona mahuu no nyamaa") lets wait.....

merali will give the other shareholders crumbs... He did so with the prime land Firestone had... 25% of the development... Yes, only 25%... the rest is his!!! And I am sure the 75% was financed using loans so merali put in zero but gets 75%... Sasini will be the same deal... Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett

Sasini will be the same deal... @VVS am with you on this one. Sameer Africa sold the land to Sameer Business park for 190m. If Merelli was concerned about the minority, the land could have been part of SAL's equity since the tire business is doing so poorly. Life is short. Live passionately.

Let me understand, did he do it because he owns 75% of the holdings or he did it the CMC way?

Looking at the previous report, list of shareholders with holdings, I can see about 800 new millionaires being created (i.e. if they are not yet millionaires)... this is based on if "they" decide to convert from agricultural to commercial without noting VVSs comments above....

Jamani wrote:Let me understand, did he do it because he owns 75% of the holdings or he did it the CMC way? formed a new company SBP in which he owns 75% and SAL only 25%. SAL then transferred the land to SBP. The sale reduced the losses of SAL from tyre business. No special div to the shareholders for the sale. Watch out for similat tricks is sasini. Life is short. Live passionately.
