Will this day be a public holiday?

25th will be a Sunday; 27th a Moday and a Holiday [Boxing Day]. Normally, Tuesday would also be a holiday because of Christmas falling on a Sunday. Not so this year; at least not in my three calendars

Anyone knows the official position?

Yeap; 27th is a Tuesday.

My interest has to do with Christmas holiday arrangements. Need to know when people return to work after Christmas...

I booked our accommodation two months ago on the assumption that 27th is a working day. Then some one pointed out to me that it "should" be a holiday as well.

Now I want to see if I can add one more day to my booking...before it's too late

Only holidays that fall on a Sunday are pushed to Monday. It does NOT happen to any other day, and has no precedent at all. If Monday is a holiday - as will be the current case - then the holiday that would have bounced off sunday will get 'abosrbed' into Monday. So Monday in real terms is a "double holiday" squeezed into ONE day!

So 27th Dec is a normal working day plse report to work. On the bright side, parking spaces will be plentiful and there will be no jam as many Kenyans will still be in marigo-ini or mboco-ini

So your initial assessment of resuming on 27th was entirely correct - disregard what that fellow was telling you. smile
