@Pierce am in the biacara of cars.Let me give you some advice.It's painful but do listen if you don't want to waste 9 months.

The car could have gone for Ksh 1Mn in Oct 2011(strong Yen,US$ and weak Ksh then).Now its at between Ksh 750K to Ksh 850K depending on the condition.
A KBR model self imported will be between Ksh 1.5Mn -Ksh 1.7Mn.

That C-class model has a face-lift sometime in 2004 or 2005(Can't remember which year)-the clear lenses and brighter rear light cluster.Hence,a lot of 2003/2004 models are being traded in the yards.
There's a new model coming out in 2007.For this year we can import cars that are up to year 2005 manufacture.Next year is 2006 and soon 2007.

My post was driven by the opportunity COST @pierce is facing.Remember the car has been on sale for 9 months.If you forget about fuel and parking he faces fixed costs of approx Ksh 80,000 that is Insurance at Ksh 50,000(could be higher) and minor service of Ksh 30,000.During the year the car is depreciating.If he had taken the value hit in Oct 2011 he would have taken his money out and applied it to something different i.e. T-Bills or deposits at over 10% or maybe a better place.
