Hello, SKians. My wife intends to fly out to Southern Sudan on the 20th September 2011, but doesn't have an ordinary passport and i understand that you will require at least 10 working days to get one.

I think the solution will be a Temporary passport. Will it work for S. Sudan. What are its pros and cons.

A temporary pass will allow Kenyans to travel to East Africa and South Sudan. It takes less than 30 minutes to process, cost Kshs 300.
U need ID & its copy 2 pass port Photos and the applicant in person.

Agree - the temporary permit will be issued by default for travel to Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and Southern Sudan (or is it South Sudan?). These permits can also be issued at border points if you have the pp photos, ID copy, etc

@Dunkang, TP is available at Nyayo House at the tent outside the Immigration Offices. Since you intimate that she will fly then thats the best spot to procure it from.
