I'm designing my own stocks trading charts using MS Excel...the charts will be available @ http://contrarianinvestingkenya.info to members only

The charts will feature key technical indicators such as Moving Averages...trendlines and Volume.

Be very careful with this because very advance analysis on the movement of stock prices has shown that stock prices follow a random stochastic process, so the notion you need to look back at stock price movement to see the future movement can relay get you burnt.

i understand what you mean. But in technical analysis the more data you have streching back as far as posibble the better because

1. You'll be able to know where previous support and resistance was

2. You'll be able to look at higher time frames in your analysis e.g weekly and monthly charts.

I am currently looking at the charts and i dnt like what i am seeing.there very very bearish trading patterns all over the place. Bad bad bad .

something worth of note..
..whatever tools you use will have real value relevance if 70% of traders apply the same tools.
Otherwise you risk to only have tools that explain history rather than predict possible forward trend.

NSE is largely unpredictable because persons who will be streaming in on monday to buy stock have not bothered with technical analysis and your tools cannot reflect this.

Case in point.. 300million safcom shares one-stop trade a week ago... makes no sense.

wow. @proverb. What are you saying. I dnt agree.Let me stop you right on your tracks. 1 question .who moves this market ? Its the big boys or what we call smart money .and to think this smart money doesnt use ta is just outright insane.this big banks and investment funds do their homework before they invest.and that means looking at their charts.

I doubt that stocks take random price patterns. I believe its just the number and intensity of forces moving the prices up or down that are too many. But thats where technical analysis comes in.It sheds some light on some forces that have an impact on certain shares, thus any fundamental analysis based on ta will have less errors. To me investing without ta, is like gambling blind.

Deal & QW, I like to use technical analysis in my trading and I have opened an account in your website to see what you have. I thought your analysis is already included but I could not see it.

I would like to delete this account after one week if this analysis is not ready by then.

Please create a button for account delete or advise how to do this.
