Barclays thinking of moving HQ out of the UK.

The mandarins at Treasury should be falling over themselves bribing and giving incentives for Barclays to come to Kenya. We are centrally based, weather good all year, optic fibres guarantee connectivity to the world, setting up outside the big cities (Nrb, Msa, Ksm) has 150% Investment Deduction, South Africa is too far south, Egypt is imploding, JKIA about to be doubled in size...

Imagine setting up BB HQ in Konza!!

Forget it. They would never move the HQ to Africa or Asia even though logically that would be the best location. I don't even think they'll move out of Europe leave alone UK. The key word here is 'could' which means jack!

BBI will solve it :)

Following the responses on that story from yahoo, am getting the impression that barclays is hated in europe as well.
The bank must be doing so badly considering that it is not a favourite for africa either (atleast in kenya). Could it be that it has grown too big and hence out of control.
